A GREGALOGUE ON MEN, WOMEN, AND AGING

So a study, funded by a funeral planning company, has found that women think they're old at 29 - while men don't feel irrelevent until they hit 58.

hmmm...if only professor Cary Cooper could boil this down for us.

Professor Cary Cooper explains:

'In our society the attractiveness of women is quite important. Men don't have to be good looking but, for some reason, it's important for women to look presentable."

Wow, nice work there Cary.

Anyway, it is then explained that magazines, featuring young attractive women, are also to blame for boosting these harsh perceptions of aging.

but I call crap, on that poop.

Unless you're a dolt - magazines don't form anyone's opinions - they only reflect what society - which is comprised of men and women - like. Men and women know what they like - men like younger women; while women like older men - if the older man can provide neat stuff.

We all know this: status for women and men are linked to aging, but inversely. The younger a woman is, the more power she has, because youth equals reproductive capability. That's why ad-men don't seek aging models - unless it's to sell Clap-on lights.

For men, aging comes with financial gain and power. In his twenties he couldn't get a date, so now, he's playing catch up.And with all the young women out there, it's no surprise a 58 year old man is delusional enough to think he's still "got it."

Which is why so many of them, in their Ed Hardy shirts and distressed jeans - should have their fingernails removed.

And if you disagree with me, you're worse than hitler.
