WHY ARE ACTORS ALWAYS LIBERALS? (ANSWER BELOW)
A southern Gothic tale that includes the rape of a young girl is causing a major stir at the Sundance Film Festival this week."Hounddog" is the story of Lewellen, a girl played by 12-year-old actress Dakota Fanning, who is growing up in the 1960s South. She is a free-spirit obsessed with Elvis Presley and has little adult supervision. The annual festival, created by legendary actor-filmmaker Robert Redford to celebrate independent film, features several movies with sexual content. Fanning first won acclaim for playing the daughter of a mentally-challenged man (Sean Penn) in "I Am Sam" and played Tom Cruise's daughter in Steven Spielberg's remake of "War of the Worlds."

I don't see what the fuss is about. It's not like they're raping the planet or a fondling a spotted owl.

Some amusing asides:
-the article describes Robert Redford as "legendary." Says who? People who own the Director's cut DVD of The Electric Horseman? Let's be clear:
Robert Shaw: legendary.
Robert Mitchum: legendary.
Robert Ryan: legendary
Robert Redford: not legendary
Robert Loggia: all around great guy

-Also, this sentence makes me laugh:
"Fanning first won acclaim for playing the daughter of a mentally-challenged man (Sean Penn) in "I Am Sam"...
God, I love typecasting.

Speaking of Sean Penn (and this entire post was painfully articulated only so I could answer this question:

Why are nearly all Hollywood actors and actresses liberal?

The thirst for fame is based on an unquenchable need for admiration. This thirst drives many people to Hollywood, in search of the love they so desperately crave. This adulation, however is never enough. Meanwhile it is this same need that drives all people to become liberals. When one becomes a liberal, he or she pretends to advocate tolerance, equality and peace, but hilariously, they're doing so for purely selfish reasons. It's the human equivalent of a puppy dog's face: an evolutionary tool designed to enhance survival, reproductive value and status.

In short, liberalism is based on one central desire: to look cool in front of others in order to get love. Preaching tolerance makes you look cooler, than saying something like, "please lower my taxes." This is why the only true form of rebellion left on this planet is conservatism. Conservatism, by rejecting the trademark forms of romantic rebellion (anarchy, activism, nipple rings) turns out to be far more subversive than anything on the planet. The conservative, every day, knows that he or she says things that aren't considered cool among the media elite. Yet the conservative still comes out and says it. This is why, Dick Cheney is closer to the Hell's Angels than Hunter S. Thompson ever could be.
And why Jon Stewart is about as daring as a diaper filled with Nilla Wafers.

Note: that's not very daring. Or comfortable, for that matter.
